We are currently in network providers with Blue Cross Blue shield, Amerihealth NJ and United Healthcare. If you are a policy holder with these companies, please call our office at 973-984-2800 with your insurance card in hand or fill out this form so that our expert office staff can check your coverage. If you have insurance with a company not mentioned above, we are happy to provide you with a receipt that has the necessary coding for you to submit to your provider. We suggest contacting your insurance company to find out whether you are covered for acupuncture. Many policies only cover specific conditions, so be sure to ask what diagnoses are covered.

Acupuncture is generally painless. The needles we use are hair-thin and our practitioners are expert in inserting them. There may be some small discomfort when the needle is passes through the skin, but it fades almost immediately. New patients find acupuncture surprisingly comfortable, and frequently don’t even notice when the needles are inserted.

When you come in for your first visit, we do an in-depth health assessment as well as a treatment, which in total takes about one and a half hours. All following treatments range from 45 minutes to an hour and 15 minutes, depending on the condition. Our practitioners are always helpful in accommodating any time constraints as well.

Each condition is different, and each person is unique. In general, the longer you have been experiencing the issue, the longer the course of treatment. Regardless of the condition, some improvement in symptoms usually occurs within the first two or three treatments.

Anything loose and comfortable is best. Wear pajamas – we won’t judge! You can also keep a pair of gym shorts in your car to change into for your treatment.

Yes, we suggest eating something light so you’re not getting treated on an empty stomach.

Our treatment protocols usually start with a period of two treatments per week. Patients taper off to weekly treatments as they experience more and more relief, anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 months. Many like to receive weekly acupuncture even after full relief from their initial symptoms because they enjoy the many health benefits of acupuncture treatments, however, this is completely up to the patient.
